چکیده

Sharing of common corridors by gas pipelines and overhead power transmission lines is becoming quite common. Voltages can be induced on gas pipelines from power transmission lines in the sections where they share the corridor. This paper reports on a recently completed study on the interaction between gas pipelines and power transmission lines in a utility common corridor in New South Wales, Australia. A previously developed computer program was used to perform a detailed analysis of the induced voltages and pipeline potentials during steady state and fault conditions. Mitigation measures are proposed to ensure compliance with standards that regulate this area.

A SURVEY ON THE EFFECT OF SOIL COMPOSITION IN CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF CATHODICALLY PROTECTED BURIED PIPELINES UNDER AC INDUCED CONDITION

Abstract: Due to the expansion of high voltage Alternating Current (AC) power transmission lines and cathodically protected buried pipelines, it is becoming more and more difficult to construct them with enough safe distances between them. Thus, the pipelines are frequently exposed to induced AC interferences, which result in perturbation of Cathodic Protection (CP) due to AC corrosion. To s...

Analytical study on the network of transmission lines vulnerability in Khorasan Razavi province against earthquake

Abstract Introduction Vulnerability is the limitation of a society to a risk and to dominate it for all physical, economic, social and political factors, which adversely affects the ability of the community to respond to those events. An earthquake is a natural phenomenon that will be irreversibly damaged. It has caused severe humanitarian earthquakes in the minds of a compilation of an infra...

Security-Based Co-Expansion Planning of Gas and Electricity Networks Considering Demand Response

Coordinated expansion planning of power plants has always attracted the attention of power industry planners to arrive at the optimal mix that assures adequacy of energy supply. Here, we model the coordinates for expansion of electricity and gas networks while considering technical constraints, in order to minimize the total cost of investment and operation of electricity and gas networks for a...

Calculation and analysis of inductive coupling effects for HV transmission lines on aerial pipelines

Because of the continuous growth of electric energy consumption and the trend with electric lines of high voltages energy transport and metal pipelines which compose the transport of the fluids and liquid or gas hydrocarbons in the same corridor, the parallelism and the proximity of the power lines and the metallic pipelines become increasingly common. Consequently, it was an increasing concern...

Modeling of Gas Hydrate Formation in the Presence of Inhibitors by Intelligent Systems

Gas hydrate formation in production and transmission pipelines and consequent plugging of these lines have been a major flow-assurance concern of the oil and gas industry for the last 75 years. Gas hydrate formation rate is one of the most important topics related to the kinetics of the process of gas hydrate crystallization. The main purpose of this study is investigating phenomenon of gas hyd...
